JASPERSOFT REACHES 5,000 CUSTOMERS AS MOMENTUM FOR OPEN SOURCE BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ACCELERATES

QED Financial Systems is 5,000th customer, chooses JasperSoft for business intelligence applications managing $1 trillion in assets

SAN FRANCISCO—December 20, 2006— JasperSoft Corporation, the market leader in open source business intelligence (BI), today passed the 5,000 customer milestone and announced that QED Financial Systems, provider of investment accounting, portfolio management, and treasury operations software, had selected JasperSoft to deliver business intelligence integrated with its financial applications. QED Financial Systems is the most recent corporation to take advantage of the cost benefits, flexibility, and reliability of JasperSoft’s open source business intelligence solutions.

With more than two million product downloads, 20,000 deployments, and 23 global partners, JasperSoft leads the market for open source business intelligence, bringing enterprise-quality open source business intelligence tools to organizations of all sizes and budgets. A lightweight Java architecture allows JasperSoft BI solutions to be easily integrated into existing applications. Today, JasperSoft has more than 5,000 customers in 81 countries, from small businesses to Global 2000 enterprises, including Harland Financial, L3 Communications, Siemens, TIMCO, Tomax, University of Nebraska, Visage Mobile, and Walgreens.com.

"JasperSoft provides a reliable, easy-to-use product family for businesses who want to increase their competitive business advantage," said Paul Doscher, CEO of JasperSoft. "JasperSoft recognizes that open source is the best way to bring business intelligence to every organization, large or small. We offer BI for everyone."

As the market for business intelligence software continues to grow, JasperSoft provides flexible solutions at a fraction of the cost of traditional proprietary software. To accommodate different deployment environments, JasperSoft offers the JasperSoft Business Intelligence Suite, a complete family of standalone products available in both open source and professional editions. Through Salesforce.com’s AppExchange, the company also gives customers an on-demand open source BI reporting and analysis solution, Jasper4Salesforce.

Serving more than 40 financial institutions with $1 trillion in collective assets, QED Financial Systems selected JasperAnalysis Professional for reporting and business intelligence analysis because it was easy to integrate in their existing financial applications. This allowed QED to extend BI to everyone that needs access to the information and delivers QED an advantage over the competition.

“QED Financial Systems is the premier provider of portfolio management and investment accounting solutions to asset managers, pension funds, investment advisors, public treasuries, and other buy-side firms,” said Joseph Potesta, President and CEO of QED. “We chose JasperSoft because it provides a significant competitive advantage to our core development team and allows us to extend the research, design, and development of enterprise-class software applications to a level required to support our clients’ business requirements.”

Organizations choose the JasperSoft Business Intelligence Suite for a variety of reasons. When leading retail solutions provider Tomax moved its hosted solutions platform to J2EE, JasperReports was selected for its functionality and the support and service provided by JasperSoft.

“We selected JasperReports because it was an easy-to-use, cost effective solution,” said Steve Klingler, Vice President at Tomax. “We were moving to a J2EE platform and were impressed with the functionality of JasperReports and the superb level of service provided by JasperSoft. While we evaluated other solutions, we went with JasperSoft because of their advanced technology, comprehensive professional services, and superior customer support.”

University of Nebraska switched from Microsoft reporting tools to JasperIntelligence because of restrictions imposed by Microsoft ADS (Active Directory Services). With a diverse data warehouse, the University needed a more open solution to generate reports and analysis. Using the JasperSoft Business Intelligence Suite to access data in their Microsoft SQL Server data warehouse, institutional research groups at the University of Nebraska can create their own reports for the first time without contacting the IT department for help.

“With the JasperSoft Business Intelligence Suite, we connect people and data in order for them to get their jobs done,” said Amy Stephen, Data & Internet Specialist, University of Nebraska. The decision to select JasperSoft was straightforward; we needed a solution that would deliver business intelligence to all of our users. That is what JasperSoft does for us.”
