After deliberation it was decided that Jaspersoft was the best-fit technology for Jagex. Specifically they were impressed with the straightforward CPU-based licencing model and the licencing cap which allows for very cost effective operation at massive scale.
Jaspersoft is now being used by Jagex as its internal BI engine for standard reporting with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including; number of paying customers, number of customers signing up, number of people using its product along with trends over time and break outs by demographics. Alongside this, more industry specific game telemetry data is reported, such as; where players are in the game world, what weapons they use and what creatures they kill which helps to inform better game design decisions.
