1. 

Note: The installer sets a user-defined location for the license file.

2. 

For the purpose of training, the /opt/jasperreports-server-5.1/apache-tomcat/bin/setclasspath.sh file is opened for viewing in a text editor.

 

Notice that the js.license.directory property is set to /opt/jasperreports-server-5.1.

3. 

Note: You are working as a system administrator who needs to transfer the new license file from a personal Windows computer to JasperReports Server running on a remote Linux computer.

 

Use a file transfer utility to proceed.

4. 

For the purpose of training, a file transfer utility is opened for you.

 

 

The local file directory is in the left panel and the remote Linux file directory is on the right.

 

The expired license file is highlighted in the panel on the right.

5. 

The new license file is in a temporary folder on your local computer and renamed jasperserver.license.

6. 

For the purpose of training, when you click the jasperserver.license file, it is moved from the local Windows computer to the remote Linux server for you.

7. 

Click Copy.

8. 

Click Yes to confirm that you want to overwrite the expired license file.

9. 

The new license is now in place on the Linux server.

10. 

Congratulations!

 

You replaced an expired license with a new license.
