1. 

Note: This activity requires the Ad Hoc Shipping View you created earlier.

 

Begin by searching for the Ad Hoc Shipping View to display its name in the search results page.

Click the Ad Hoc Shipping View link to open the view in the Ad Hoc Editor.

Note: The Ad Hoc Shipping View appears.

4. 

To make this view more presentable, apply formatting available through the context menu.

 

Right-click in the Name column.

5. 

Select the Edit Label menu item to edit the column header.

6. 

In the Label text field, change the column header to Company Name.

7. 

Click the Submit button to save the change.

Note: The new column header appears.

Likewise, right-click the Shipping charge column.

10. 

Select the Edit Label menu item to edit the column header.

11. 

Change the label to "Freight".

12. 

Click the Submit button to commit the edit.

Note: The new column header appears.

Next, right-click the Postal code column.

15. 

Select the Remove from Table menu item, as this information is no longer required.

16. 

Now, widen the Company Name column so each company name appears on a single line.

 

Move your cursor between the Company Name and Freight columns so you see the twin-arrow cursor, then click and drag to the right to widen the Company Name column.

Note: Widening the first column provides the space necessary to display each company name on a single line.

The context menu’s Change Data Format option provides ways to format several different types of data.

 

Right-click in the Freight column to display the context menu.

Point to the Change Data Format list item to view the formatting options.

Select ($1,235) to format the decimal freight data with no decimal places.

Note: Freight values appear in whole dollar figures.

Next, title the view appropriately.

 

Click in the title bar where it reads Click to add a title.

Enter the title Shipping Charges.

24. 

Press [Enter] to commit the edit.

Note: The title is now part of the view.

Lastly, save the view under a new name.

 

Point to the Save menu.

27. 

Select the Save Ad Hoc View As menu item.

Enter the Name Fully Formatted View.

The Reports folder is selected by default.

 

Click the Save button to save the view and close the window.

Note: The formatted view is saved to the repository, where users can access it. You use the Fully Formatted View again later in this course.
