Step

Action

1.

Begin by searching for Accounts reports in the repository.

Enter acc into the search field at the upper right and click the Search button.

2.

Note: The search results appear.

3.

Note: The Filters panel appears at the left when a search is performed. It also appears when View > Search Results is selected from the main menu.

4.

Note: A second search field now appears just above the list of resources, and the search string acc appears in it.

5.

On the right end of that search field, click the gray X button to clear the Search field.

6.

Note: All resource titles now appear.

Task1: Search the repository to find resources, is complete.

7.

Next, display a list of reports.

Click the Home menu at the upper left.

8.

Click the Reports View List  button on your home page.

9.

Note: Selecting the Reports View List button automatically selects Reports in the second filters group of the Filters panel and displays a list of all reports at the right. This group of filter buttons filters by resource type.

10.

Note: At the top of the Filters panel, the first group of filter buttons filters by current user to display resources modified or viewed by the user.

11.

In the second filters group, click the More choices button to display additional content types.

12.

Click the Dashboards filter button to display the names of dashboards.

13.

Note: The filter permits only Dashboard names to appear in the list at the right.

14.

Click the All types filter button to again display all resource types.

15.

At the bottom of the second filters group, click the Fewer choices button to reduce the number of filter buttons displayed.

16.

Note: Clicking Fewer choices collapses that group of filter buttons so the group displays no more than the default maximum.

17.

At the bottom of the third filters group, click the Past month button to add that filter.

18.

Note: The third group of filters lists resources by the date they were last viewed or modified.

The fourth filters group lists resources based on their schedule.

19.

Click the Any time filter in the third group to remove the Past month filter.

20.

Select the Reports button in the second filters group to display a list of report titles. This is the same as selecting the View Reports button on the home page.

21.

Note: Just underneath the center search field, a filters trail (or search expression) is present when filters are selected. The filters trail now reads All + Reports, indicating that the default display of all resources is constrained to reports only.

22.

Click the Today button in the third filters group.

23.

Note: The longer filters trail (All + Reports + Today) further restricts the content displayed.

More criteria in the filters trail translates to a more-restricted list of resources displayed. No report titles display because the user has not viewed any reports today.

24.

In the filters trail under the center search field, click the Reports link to reduce filtering.

25.

Note: The Today filter is removed. Clicking a link in the filters trail removes all filter criteria that follow it.

26.

Note: In the Filters panel, the Today button is no longer selected, while the Reports button still is. This is reflected in the filters trail.

27.

Click the All link in the filters trail to eliminate filtering.

28.

Note: Clicking All in the filters trail removes the filters to display all resources. All four groups in the Filters panel have returned to their default settings.

Task 2: Use the Filters panel to view and refine results, is complete.

29.
