Click the Fully Formatted View link to open the view in the Ad Hoc Editor.

3.

Note: The view appears in the Ad Hoc Editor.

4.

Hide the Layout Band.

In the menu bar, the Options menu displays three dots and a check mark.

Point to the Options menu.

5.

Click the Hide Layout Band menu item.

6.

Note: The Layout Band no longer appears.

7.

Next, sort the view on the Freight column.

Right-click on the Freight column.

8.

Click the Use For Sorting menu item.

9.

Note: The Sort window appears.

The Available Fields column lists the fields this Topic provides. Sorting is permitted on any field, whether or not it appears in the view.

10.

Note: Shipping charge (whose label was changed to Freight in a previous activity) is listed at the right in the Sort On column, along with the caret-shaped sort icon. Click the caret when you want to alternate between ascending and descending sort.

11.

Click the Shipping charge caret so it points down.

12.

Click the OK button to save the sort specification and close the window.

13.

Note: Records in the view are sorted on the Freight column and displayed in descending order.

To edit the sort, right-click in the column and select Change Sorting.

14.

Now, configure a second sort, this time on Company Name.

Instead of the right-click context menu, use the menu bar's Sort button, which displays the letters A and Z.

Click the Sort button.

15.

The Sort window appears.

Double-click Name in the Available Fields column to move it over to the Sort On column.

16.

Note: Shipping charge appears above Name, indicating that records are sorted first by shipping charge, then by company name.

In the event that multiple records display identical shipping charge values, the second sort specifies that those records are ordered alphabetically by company name.

17.

Note: The two sort carets in the Sort On panel indicate that the shipping charge sort is descending, while the company name sort is ascending.

18.

Click the OK button to save the sort configuration and close the window.

19.

Note: The first page of the view displays company names in Argentina. Some company names appear multiple times, indicating that those companies have multiple shipping transactions.

20.

Next, configure grouping to display records in a more organized way.

Right-click the Freight column to open the context menu.

21.

Select the Change Sorting menu item to open the Sort window.

22.

By default, the top field name in the Sort On column is highlighted.

Click the Move Down button to swap the two columns' sort order.

23.

Note: Now Name appears at the top of the list, so it has first sort priority.

24.

Click the OK button to save changes and close the window.

25.

Note: Records are first grouped by company name in ascending alphabetical order. Records for each company are sorted by shipping charge in descending order.
