FAQ for Live Online Training

1. What is Live Online training?

Live Online Training allows you to take Jaspersoft classes without having to travel. Jaspersoft University Live Online classes are led by an instructor and are highly interactive. They include lecture, demos, labs, and break times, as well as access to our remote training environment.
2. What is the class size; how many participants are allowed?
Our class size is small. We allow only 10 – 14 participants to encourage a low student to instructor ratio, and highly interactive classes.
3. How do I receive the course materials?
You receive a link to download the course materials when you register. We request that you print out the lab workbook, prior to class start.
4. How will the course be delivered?
Jaspersoft instructors deliver the class via GoToTraining. You use your computer with an internet connection to connect to the session. We recommend a high speed internet connection
5. Do I need to install Jaspersoft software on my computer?
You do not need Jaspersoft products installed on your computer for the class, as you will be provided access to our remote training environment for the hands-on labs. On the first day of class the instructor issues each participant a code, which gives you access to our remote training environment. You do need to download the Windows Remote Desktop, and GoToTraining has a java download when you join. These details are included in the course materials when you register.
6. What are the system requirements?
You can view the system requirements from the GoToTraining website here, then go to GoToTraining - User Help > Getting Started > System Requirements. Linux is NOT supported at this time.
7. How do I hear the instructor and interact with the class?
In order to listen and speak with the class, you can join by telephone (local toll call) or VOIP. For VOIP calls, we recommend a good quality headset with microphone to plug into your computer. See here for full details, then go to GoToTraining - User Help > Audio.
8. Can I view the course on one computer while doing the labs on another computer?
You may use two computers; one logged into GoToTraining, and the other logged into the remote training environment.
9. Will I be able to view the sessions again at a later time?
No, the sessions are not recorded.
10. What if I have a personal firewall?
If you have a personal firewall (ZoneAlarm®, Norton Personal Firewall™, etc.) installed, make sure that GoToTraining is not being blocked. If so, unblock GoToTraining and try again. Additionally, you can configure your personal firewall to enable GoToTraining to access the Internet anytime you need it to. Make sure to test your access to the remote training environment prior to the class start. Details are provided in the Pre-Class Actions that you receive when you register.
11. What if my company has a firewall?
If you are in a corporate environment, you may have a hardware firewall. Please provide the document found at www.citrixonline.com/iprange to your IT department so that they may allow GoToTraining to connect. Make sure to test your access to the remote training environment prior to the class start. Details are provided in the Pre-Class Actions that you receive when you register.
